The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS Helpline) offers students and their families information and support with regard to financial assistance from the government.
If you are a student who needs help applying for or understanding NSFAS loans, then the helpline is the perfect resource for you. Here you can find out about eligibility requirements, how to apply for funding, and what to do if you encounter problems with your loan.
The helpline staff is available Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm to answer any questions you may have. So don’t hesitate to give them a call if you need assistance!

The NSFAS helpline is a 24-hour toll-free number that allows students to get in touch with the NSFAS Contact Centre for any inquiries or assistance. The helpline can be reached on 0800 023 234.
If you have applied for financial aid from NSFAS and have not yet heard back, you can contact the NSFAS Call Centre for assistance. The Contact Centre is open from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm. You can reach the Contact Centre on 087 286 6280 or send an email to [email protected]
If you need to speak to someone in person, you can visit your nearest NSFAS office. Office hours are from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm.
